I LOVE BREAKFAST, especially when traveling or on weekends, and this was a great breakfast spot! Our table had a little bit of everything, from biscuits and gravy, to waffles, to egg scrambles, etc, and everyone enjoyed it. The menu is huge, tons of omelettes, scrambles, just lots of options. I do think the general concensus was that the breakfast sandwich, which on the menu seemed like the most simple, almost boring item to order, was the group favorite. We went on a Sunday morning around 10:30, and there was about a 15-20 minute wait. It did seem to take a long time to get our food once we ordered, but the place was just really busy. They bring out carafes of coffee, tea, water, whatever you're drinking, so you don't have to wait a long time for drink refills, which our table appreciated. They turn those tables over quickly, and it was totally worth the wait.

Awesome place for brunch or breakfast in Estes Park! I had the Hiker's Benedict, which has ham, asparagus and mushrooms on eggs benedict. It was really good. The home fries are full of flavor without being greasy. We had to wait a few minutes for a table, but it was well worth the wait. Service is friendly and quick and everyone in our party enjoyed their meals. Great way to load up on calories before heading into the park for a day of hiking!

The staff were very friendly and attentive. i got the breakfast burrito, which tasted like a corporate version of the beloved classic. I also ordered a coconut pancake with pineapple and I thought it was the best pancake ever. In fact, I ordered another one. Overall, this place has a chain restaurant feel to it but the pancake is worth coming for alone.

  • Michelle B.

It was pretty good. I got veggie Benedict and it was good enough, my husband got the coconut pineapple pancake, it was a little undercooked but overall pretty good. Nothing to write home about. The price is right, decor is wrong.

A quaint breakfast joint in the heart of Estes Park. Nothing to go gaga over but if you want your breakfast fix, the name itself should lure you in.

  • Kelley S.

The food was delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive! The price was also right! We definitely recommend this place! It is a very pleasant place to go for breakfast (good music, clean and bright atmosphere).

Good option in Estes Park for breakfast. The menu is large with all your basic breakfast options. The best part is the carafe of Hazelnut coffee that was on our table during the meal. Our group ordered the mexican omelette, garden skillet, eggs with turkey sausage and patriot waffle. The mexican omelette was a nice blend of flavors and we recommend the green chili sauce. The garden skillet was what you would expect: veggie, cheesy, scrambled goodness. Turkey sausage tasted like thanksgiving with a nice sage flavor. It was a pleasant surprise to have fresh berries on the waffle as opposed to a sugar loaded "fruit topping". We substituted fruit for the breakfast potatoes no problem. We got to the restaurant around 8 and didn't have to wait, but there was a line by the time we left. We would return here for breakfast without a second thought.

Had a great lunch here after days of pizzas and burgers. Wife ordered crab cakes benedict and I ordered a cashew chicken salad. Service was great, food was great.

When staying Estes Park we always stop here for breakfast! We share a Denver Omelet with ranch potatoes. Perfect breakfast to share!

We've been to The Egg and I many times on our various trips to Estes Park, and we stopped by again yesterday for lunch. It's still good, offering tasty food and good service for reasonable prices. We recommend it.

  • Colton W.

Great food. Large menu. Took a while to decide. Reminded me of another Egg named restaurant I've been to before. The place gets crowded. Would recommend for tasty eats in Estes.

  • Josh R.

Easily one of the best breakfasts in Estes Park. We had breakfast there a few times, the Huevos Rancheros are awesome, great omelette and really good coffee that tastes mostly like it came from a coffee house. These people will cook a fried egg exactly how you want it without messing it up. The service was excellent and the kids menu was totally reasonable. Go early to avoid the rush.

Good breakfast at a good price with great service.

Service and food were the best! We were visiting Estes Park for the day and just stopped in here. I had the special which was an egg scramble with mushrooms, spinach, green beans, tomatoes, dill and Havarti cheese. The flavor combination was fabulous! I also had their hazelnut coffee which was a bit strong but the hazelnut flavor was wonderful. My husband had a veggie omelet which was equally as good. Even though it was crowded we were seated reasonably quickly. The table service was very good with the food coming quickly and plated well. I would highly recommend this restaurant. One of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time.

Nice variety on the menu. Food was very good and cooked to order. Service was excellent and prices reasonable.

Great breakfast place in Estes Park. It is a chain, but it somehow manages to have a local feel, which I love. The staff was helpful and quick to get our food out, and the food was fantastic! The portions are fairly large for the price, especially the pancakes!

    (4)
  • Tom T.

The portions are huge (the pancakes are the size of a dinner plate) and generally pretty good. The flavored coffee wasn't great when I ate there previously.

    (3)
  • Larry B.

Very good breakfast and large portions if you are hungry. fair prices and quick service. I had the breakfast burrito with green chili and it was very tasty. they give you way too many home fries LOL. Recommended.

We had one day in Colorado and based soley on the reviews found on Yelp we headed here for breakfast. WOW was I happy. The Santa Fe Huervos were amazing and my wife is still dreaming about the blueberry pancakes she had. No frills, good old fashion awesome food. You won't be dissapointed.

  • A. B.

Great breakfast place... Pancakes are awesome, great coffee selection, big menu. Staff was very nice. Lost a star because the ambiance was so so and on the dated side, but who cares when the food is good! And the turkey sausage was disappointing. But highly recommended, great little place!

    (4)
  • Chris G.

I had a quick breakfast here before hiking, and it was just ok. I was craving french toast, and it was a disappointment. I'm not sure what type of bread they used, but it wasn't very good. But I have not been anywhere in Estes Park that had great food, so I guess this place is right in line with the rest.

  • Karell C.

Great coffee, great service, great food. One of the locals told us about this place. We went in with no expectations. The waitress was attentive, the coffee was delicious, and the food fabulous. I ordered the "Texas Skillet" that came with eggs, potato, chopped steak, and various sauteed vegetables. It was great all around, absolutely no complaints!. KC from Austin,TX

  • Angie W.

What a great place! Super popular and had a wait, but OH SO WORTH IT! Great corned beef hash - super unique and not greasy and heavy (it was light and fluffy and so good)! Awesome food that leaves you feeling good and satisfied but not heavy. We would go here again and again of we could!

    (4)
  • Karen M.

Unlike "The Other Side", "Egg & I" was open early (before 7). Service and food were excellent.

Decent breakfast joint. Nothing worth raving over but you should not be disappointed if you have reasonable expectations.

  • R W.

We recently ate here on a weekend for breakfast. The place was packed but the wait was short like 5 minutes. The server was very efficient and helpful. The food was very good but the cost seemed kind of high for what we ordered. We both had the Viva La France which was two eggs, two pieces of french toast and your choice of sausage or bacon. A pretty common breakfast at most places but the cost was double here to other comparable places. Would give it 5 stars if the prices were not so high.

    (4)
  • Anson C.

First a warning; Watch out for long weekend lines. I'm here for the 4th of July weekend, and their wait is terrible. Or I'm impatient. And hungry. And missing my oxygen being so high in the mountains. All of which is not a good first impression. However, be brave and plow on through. Their breakfast food is great. It comes in generously sized portions. And very reasonable prices Their West Coast Omelet is excellent. Its covered in lots of Swiss cheese and topped with some fresh avocado slices. Their spinach is flavourful, and the ham adds the right amount of meaty taste to make this breakfast item work. This place has their breakfast food done right. The service is par. I understand its busy, and it is a holiday weekend. And their decor is subtle. Cheerful and colorful, it works as a place to wake up and get ready to enjoy the Rockies.

  • Donnie C.

The only place in Estes park to eat breakfast. We stayed a week and probably ate there 5 times. The omelets are some of the best I've had. It seemed like I hiked a lot better after eating breakfast here. Will not disappoint. The service is unbeatable.

Don't sit by kitchen unless you're seeking the experience. Would order from the Mex brkfst items. Santa Fe huevos good. Staff great.

We went here on a Saturday morning for some breakfast, and let me tell you! The line was ridiculously long for a Saturday morning. Also, the parking lot is very small so parking was a little hard to find. I ordered the Hiker's Benedict and my boyfriend ordered Cordon Bleu, they both came with hashbrowns on the side. I got the strawberry lemonade soda. Honestly, I think I would have given them a better rating had we not have to wait over 30 minutes for our meal (they told us 15-20 minutes) and we waited almost twice as long. I love Egg's Benedict, so no complaints there... but I would probably not go back just because it was so busy, and the customer service wasn't that great.

  • Eileen P.

Service was excellent, server was very nice, food only took seven minutes to arrive after ordering. Got the chorizo omelette with green chile and it was fantastic. My husband got the strawberry and banana waffle which he also enjoyed. Even gave us to go cups for our coffee. Will visit again.

The best place in town to fill the belly with some super yummy food before going off for an amazing hike in RMNP. Great coffee(which is a must for any caffeine addict), hikers benedict is a solid recommendation along with any other specials. Food was great, service was friendly and prompt, wait was short, and I would certainly go back the next time we visit Estes.

  • Suzanna S.

The menu here is great and quite creative, but like most breakfast spots here in Estes Park, I find the prices to be a bit high. The French Benedict is fantastic and worth a try.

    (3)
  • Josh H.

Definitely the best breakfast in Estes Park. The biscuits and gravy are damn good, and their skillets are pretty good as well. My wife was very happy with the massive blueberry pancakes she got. The service is good and friendly. I really have no complaints.

  • Andy M.

As far as breakfast goes in Estes Park this should be high on your list. Good coffee, good food and good service - what else can you ask for? How about more parking? This place gets crowded so arrive early or a bit late in the morning to avoid the crowds. Big thumbs up for this place.

    (4)
  • Linda L.

Another great breakfast spot in Estes Park. Get here early, they fill up by 7:30 or so. Servings of everything are large and they leave a pot of coffee and a carafe of water at your table. Service was quick and friendly and everyone loved their meals. The apple cinnamon granola pancake was great--not too sweet--and the Santa Fe Huevos and Colorado Jack Scramble were huge. Even the kids menu is more extensive than usual. We ate here several days during our trip.

  • Tara B.

It's almost worth the drive up to Estes Park just to eat here, never mind the sights and attractions close by. The coffee is memorable and the plates brimming with wholesome goodness. More than any reasonable human could eat, the food is so good you are liable to hurt yourself trying to cram each delicious morsel in.

    (4)
  • Richard B.

Crowded. Great Food. We really enjoyed this place. Small and has a corporate restaurant feel for such a tiny place. Hey, we had a great experience here. Parking is tight. Suggest that you go early, particularly on a weekend.

  • Allie W.

Pleasant place for breakfast in Estes Park. There was a line out the door when we arrived, and they seated us in about 10 minutes. I had the "Santa Fe Huevos", which was good - black beans on a four tortilla, with poached eggs, shredded cheese, salsa, sour cream and guac. And a side of ranch potatoes - yum! It's a Denny's-style type of place, lots of coffee and eggs and bacon. Waitress was friendly and prompt, would definitely recommend for breakfast.

  • H J.

I was certain that there was going to be a wait at 10am on a Sunday and when I called to check I was told it was getting full but they will put me on the list. We got their quickly and were seated as soon as we walked in- we weren't shoved into a small space. As a party of two that happens sometimes, but here we got a nice booth. The service was quick and the food options were plenty. The food quality was above average and it was nice I was offered a togo cup to take my coffee with me.

Great place for breakfast in Estes Park. We tried this place out one morning during our vacation there and were very pleasantly surprised. We both had the blueberry pancake, which is actually one, very large whole wheat pancake with blueberries baked in a blueberry compote on the side. Very, very good (and, since it's whole wheat, you can pretend it's good for you!). The service was very good and the atmosphere was typical IHOP-style dining. The place seemed very popular and my guess is that a lot of locals come by for breakfast as well.

what a delightful place at this touristy trap "Estes Park" . had the waffle, eggs and ham plate. the waffle was outstanding n the eggs n meat were standard. very reasonable prices. i got what i was looking for, much better than that shitty place Moon Kats my ass. wait staff was friendly. will be gladly go back again

This is a 3.5: Cute place, decent food. Can say we were content. Went with my two friends before hiking Bear Lake. Food had okay pricing. One friend enjoyed his Parisian Benedict and I liked my Santa Fe Eggs, minus hard ranch potatoes I had for a side. Must have got the short end of the stick because we came 30min before closing. Second friend liked his Colorado Scrambler, but not the pork green chile sauce. Didn't make pretty comments about it. Overall fine experience. Staff was friendly, and we're stuffed for the trails.

I cannot believe the 5 star reviews. My only thought is these poor people have never been to a good breakfast/brunch place. What kind of life is that to live! This spot is medicore at best. It's eggs, so nothing is going to be awful, or truly distasteful. In a way, it hits the spot. I'm glad we went here out of pure hunger, and not as a destination. That being said, the place has this adorable "simplistic" feel and the people working there are "kind" "down-home" types. We were asked if our meal was good about 6 times. They're really sweet there and appear to really want you to dig the place. As a side note, theres kind of a mexican theme going on with their dishes which i really liked. If you're into that this place will score extra points.

  • Dan D.

The waitress was unbelievably nice and helpful. I got the Athena egg scramble and it was on point. Would go here again if I'm ever back in Estes Park.

A 20 minute wait - is it worth it? The answer is yes! We came in on a very lazy late October Sunday and found a very packed Egg and I. We waited and read the local paper for a while and then went in for breakfast about 20 minutes later. The menu is fresh and different and had so many options it was easy even on a restricted diet to find something delicious. I had a dish named Veracruz chicken and avocado omelette. This was an egg white omelette with grilled chicken, fresh tomatoes, onions, and roasted green chilies. There was also a nice fresh fruit and a side of potatoes. I found it to be above average but the omelette was on the very light/watery side. My friend tried the Cambridge skillet which included diced ham, crisp bacon and hollandaise sauce on a skillet of ranch potatoes with cheese and eggs. She seemed to like it quite a bit! There's a good possibility this is the best breakfast place in Estes Park! I will have to keep researching...

I ordered the Chicken Apple Sausage egg white scramble (minus the English Muffin or toast) and my husband ordered the Parisian Eggs Benedict. Food was good and service was on point. Husband wants me to add that he loved his Benedict. We went early (8am) on a Saturday and didn't have a wait. Food: 4 stars Price: 4 stars (overall, I thought prices seemed reasonable but was somehow still surprised by the total after adding 2 coffees) Service: 5 stars Cleanliness: 5 stars Generally, I'd probably rate this 4 stars, but I think they were doing everything right this morning. They even asked us if we wanted to-go cups to take our pots of coffee to go. Great job!

  • Eric S.

Ok.... This DEFINITELY is NOT a four star restaurant. GET REAL PEOPLE. I ordered blueberry pancake, scrambled eggs and bacon. Big dry pancake had no taste, eggs tasted like spray oil, and bacon was tasteless. I ate less then half my meal. My order took forever to come to the table and when it did it was cold. Manager was very accommodating and gave me a certificate and said my meal was on him.

  • Heidi T.

The name is cool, the building looks cool, but food is not cool. Don't waste your money. If you like Perkins, go ahead and eat here. But if you are in Estes, you should eat at an awesome local place rather than a bad chain restaurant.

    (1)
  • Brian T.

Driving up we were a bit nervous that we would be waiting awhile as many people were standing outside, but the wait was only 10 minutes. The service was quite fast and the food was good but not the best I've had. The portions however were quite large, my son and I had already done a 4.5 mile hike before coming and we were both very hungry. Of course my son woofed his breakfast burrito down in half the time it took me to eat my eggceptional omelette and he probably could have eaten another but I struggled to finish mine. I would certainly come back for another breakfast.

  • Martin Y.

I enjoyed the location, the decor, and the service. Ordering the steel-cut oatmeal was a mistake. The fresh fruit served with it was great but the oat meal was under-cooked and grainy.

    (2)
  • Allison W.

The $2.79 coffee was so weak it looked like tea. The Santa Fe huevos lacked the advertised tomatoes and thr green chile had no pork in it. It tasted like nursing home food. Bland, mushy and lavking in depth of flavors.

My son and I were staying at the Stanley and looked for a place for breakfast. We found this place close by and gave it a shot. We only waited about 5 minutes. The place is clean, inviting and have a nice view out the window. Now, the menu. It is, I agree, a little pricey. Over $9 for a three egg omelet with a large spoonful of potato and an english muffin...add coffee and tax and you're at $14-ish. A bit much for eggs, potatoes and bread...all cheap to purchase at the grocery store. However I realize it's a tourist area and therefore most things are overpriced. Either way, I ordered the Denver omelet. It was good, not much in the way of veggies, I mean it's not stuffed by any means, but good. Potatoes had a nice flavor, and the English muffin came hot and buttered. I did enjoy the meal. Now the coffee comes in flavors too if that's something you enjoy. I personally love flavored coffee and was thrilled. The caramel coffee was delicious. We did come back the next morning, and I ordered the strawberry waffle meal. I was surprised that the waffle was rather small for the price (over $10 for this meal), very few strawberries, some pecans sprinkled about, that was it. It was warm, not hot, and not crispy or fresh tasting...a bit disappointing. It's served with two eggs and two pieces of bacon. Not worth the price at all. I would come back next time I'm in the area, but not order the waffles. Service was fantastic. Atmosphere 4, Food, 4, Service 5, Value 3.

  • Angel C.

The food was mediocre. I loved the service, they were very friendly and accommodating for my party of 8. There was a short wait when we came here for lunch. They had little toys and color pencils for the kids, which was great for keeping them busy. I do recommend the ranch potatoes and the sausages though! (:

    (3)
  • Eric H.

We went to egg and I to eat brunch. I had the strawberry, bananna and walnut waffles with extra sausage on the side. The sausage was very flavorful and they bring you hot syrup. The bananas. And strawberrys were cut fresh and they give you a crate of water. Decent prices for good quality food. Stop here on your next trip to Estes Park

    (5)
  • Liang L.

The food is ok. We order omelet and burger. Quite pricy for the amount of food they serve. The sides cost too much.

Went to breakfast here before our big adventure into the mountains. Very friendly service and delicious food!

    (4)
  • Clark M.

Parisian benedict was simply awesome. Host very friendly. Brought a life saving train for my son when he was upset. Gfs huevo rancheros was apparently mediocre, thus not a five star rating

    (4)
  • Alicia K.

This is an average breakfast place not typically worth a review, but worth it this time around since I found the 4 stars misleading. The OJ is odwalla, which is delicious and fresh. The 1 giant plain pancake... Was awesome! The edges had a little crisp to them, the flavor was pancakey (add some syrup - ok, you caught me, drench, is the more appropriate description of my action and smother in butter) and the rest was fluffy! Exactly what I was craving the day before and I'm happy my pancake turned out perfect. However, the hot cocoa tastes like the machine kind at those continental breakfasts in your standard economical hotel. The eggs were fluffy and bland. The potatoes which are usually my favorite part of any meal and also my favorite vegetable, was lackluster.

Every time we come through town we make a point to stop here for breakfast. The place is usually very busy but the line moves quickly and their service is excellent. Today we ordered the Colorado and Wisconsin scramblers as well as a side of ranch potatoes with sour cream. The eggs were cooked to perfection and you could tell that all of the ingredients were fresh. Our waiter (Serge or Serg?) was very prompt, attentive, and made sure we were happy with our meal and well taken care of. We will continue coming back, this place is awesome!

  • MaryBeth R.

No matter what Egg and I you end up at, you can expect to find good, solid breakfast fare. Nothing fancy, but I do appreciate the fact that they make a whole wheat pancake. It's a good go-to restaurant when all you want is breakfast. (HINT - the coffee is a little less than mediocre. Sometimes I will stop at a nearby coffee shop for a to-go latte before I head to breakfast)

Haters gonna hate... There are dozens of these in CO and every one we have been to is excellent! Staff is totally on it. Food is flavorful and presented quickly. Coffee is tasty. I would not hesitate when deciding on a good breakfast or brunch! Gets busy on weekends, but we were seated in 5 min at 9am on a Saturday.

We came here two days in a row while camping in Rocky Mountain NP this October, and was the perfect way to start a cool autumn morning. The first day I ordered the huevos rancheros with spicy chorizo, served on a flour tortilla with guacamole, sour cream, and two perfectly poached eggs. The eggs on the second morning were just as perfect in the cordon blue skillet - ham chunks, diced chicken, melted swiss, hollandaise with a good bite of lemon, and a side of breakfast potatoes. Hot coffee is served in a thermos (try the hazelnut), so you can fill it up when you need. Portions are the perfect size - not so small you're left wanting, nor so huge you feel sick. Plus, the hostesses are really sweet, and you leave feeling all warm inside :)

YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY! My favorite is the Viva la France French Toast. I wish I had some now, and it's 10pm. While the menu is loaded with options reminiscent of your local diner menu, the Egg and I just doesn't fit into the diner mold. In fact, I'm ashamed that I put that word into this review. Forget it. The only thing you need to remember is full flavored coffee. Deliciously spiced sausage patties. Bacon, crisped to perfection. Fluffy, carnival-like french toast, dusted with powdered sugar, and drenched in rich, dark syrup. I could go on and on, but, something tells me you're already on your way... as you should be.

Strawberry banana waffles very good. Nice spicy sausage patties. Corn beef hash with basted eggs tough to beat. Pot of Bold coffee and glass of OJ pushed breakfast for two to $28.50. A lot of good food for price.

Sorry I listed to Eric's review on the pancakes because everything we had was good. The seating was crowded but no wait on a Sunday. The food took about 10 minutes and everything was hot. Sausage was great and muffin was great. Colorado omelette kind of plain but fresh.

Good brunch place and very kind treatment for kids. We even got toys box for the baby to play with. Pineapple coconut pancakes are yummy!!!!!!!

It was great! The Patriot Waffle was perfectly cooked, and their whipped cream was hand made. I had the Colorado Scramble with bacon mixed in and it was very flavorful. The shops around the are are also a really nice scene, as well as a great activity afterward to walk off the big meal!

Ate here our first morning during our stay at Estes... The family liked it so much we ended up coming here every morning. The food is great and the portions are fairly large. The coffee is tasty and the bill wasn't too bad at all!

My wife and I drove from Columbia MO straight through to Estes park overnight, made it to the Egg & I just before they opened. Needless to say we were tired and hungry... the staff was very courteous and the food was excellent. I had the scrambled eggs over biscuits and gravy and my wife had the french toast. Great meal!

It's food. Visiting from out of town is always a challenge. I have the spoiled palate of a Los Angeles native, so when I eat something I have profound disappointment if I don't love it. Breakfast is also my favorite meal because it's simple and hard to bungle. Pros: friendly service! That goes a long way. Great coffee. Eggs are cooked well. Cons: nothing is "real". Processed "butter" processed "cream" and processed "maple syrup". When I ask for butter I'm not asking for a facsimile of butter. So in the end my toast tasted like plastic, my waffle was coated in plastic and my coffee ended up being enjoyed black. What does this place have against good ol' dairy?! Glad I asked for the waffle without whipped cream because experience tells me it would have been cool whip. Gag. Embrace the cow.

Highly recommend the corn chowder and the 3 veggie flatbread sandwich and the peppermint hot chocolate... Very tasty

The wait was long, which normally means the place has great food. After a 30 min wait for breakfast we got seated. The waitress was from out of country with a thick accent. She seemed to have no affect what so ever, like she was extremely shy, in fact we could barely hear what she would say as she was basically expressionless, anyway, the service was not good. The food was no better...my wife ordered a turkey sandwich with salad, she said the turkey tasted like ham? But on inspection, the turkey was turkey, maybe the cook grilled in ham juice? The salad was fresh and tasty. I ordered the Mexican Skillet, Chorizo with cheese over potatoes, eggs and chili over the top. I order eggs over easy and they were fully cook - hard. The meal seemed to be out of a can, or box or processed food. Considering all the other great reviews, which were the reason we ate here, maybe my wife and I were unlucky and but I we are not going back to find out otherwise.

Nice breakfast and brunch place in Estes Park. Had the Skillet there which was pretty nice, though the bread could have been a bit better. In terms of the choice available in a town like Estes Park, this place is pretty good, in a bigger city I would have given in three stars.

This was my favorite menu while in Estes Park whilst visiting Rocky Mtn Nat'l Park. The Egg and I is a cute (small chain?) restaurant near the main street of Estes Park. We stopped by for breakfast and enjoyed ourselves. We ordered the crab cakes benedict and MBA fritata. Both were very good. I also got their supposedly famous house-blend coffee, which was pretty good. I like that they just leave a big jug of coffee for you to pour yourself. Lastly, service was quite good and friendly. And I like the t-shirts that staff wears.

Had a delicious egg white frittata. Fresh ingredients, good coffee, orange juice. Recommend this place. Clean, friendly staff, courteous and quick. Which is definitely not the norm in Estes Park.

Great place for breakfast. Anything eggs and good potatoes~ Great service and great selections. We ordered: Greek Frittata - really good. Eggceptional Omelet - pretty good. Will go back again, when we're around the area.

Biscuits & sausage gravy a start on a high country breakfast that will astound and fill your appetite. Let loose the saliva flood gates!

The food was average for a place like this. The atmosphere, though, was horrible. The food was very slow in getting to us. The server apologized and said the kitchen was running slow. The manager was very loud. She gave personal attention (and extra food while we were all waiting for our delayed meals) to an elderly couple that were obviously regulars. The manager spoke loudly to this couple (I know she has family back east and she is not a registered voter). We will not come back again.

The food isn't really bad here it's just that it always seems the food is not hot enough and the coffee is not hot enough. I like HOT food and steaming HOT coffee. Also the sausage is nothing to speak of, I've had way better sausage many places and even buying myself in the grocery store. They should have thick bacon, not the thin tiny strips they have. I think next time I would go to the Notch Top Bakery Cafe for breakfast!

I love this place! I went with my cousins while in town on vacation and I am very pleased to discover there is one near where I live. The pancake I got was enormous, but light and fluffy. I also had amazing cheesy scrambled eggs and perfectly crispy bacon. My fellow diners had a wide array of food including waffles (which looked like desert), biscuits and gravy, etc. Absolutely delicious and down to earth.

Friendly and fast service. Excellent food and great kids menu. Coffee is served in a stay hot craft and left at your table.

Wonderful breakfast place. Affordable and great food. I got a skillet and it was amazing. Would highly recommend and I plan on returning. Perfectly toasted english muffin.

This was the second breakfast place my husband and I got to try in Estes. We also dined at Notchtop Bakery. The food was really great and filling, the service was good as well. My only complaint was the service was almost too much. We were greeted immediately and had drinks in no time, but asked for time with the menu. She came back in under a minute every time. Finally by the third time we gave in. I guess too much service isn't really a bad thing though, definitely better than not enough!

Had breakfast here this morning as I had never seen or heard of one before. Was hoping it was something special in Estes Park, Colorado. Nope, it's a chain. While the food tasted good (except for the stale bread) and the thin coffee in a huge pitcher like IHop pretty much sucked, the portions were not worth the price. There has to be a better breakfast option in Estes Park.

If you have a lot of time to wait and don't mind loud management then no worries. Food is decent for the place. Poorly organized in server areas. Hosts are completely unaccountable and loud for no reason.

Great place for breakfast but forgot our mugs there, the owner was so nice he mailed them back to us because we live out of state. So rewarding to find genuine customer service like that these days.

Top notch breakfast, friendly staff. They took the diner experience up 2 notches! Good dark roast coffee also! Skip the hotel breakfast and visit the Egg and I!

Food was tasty and the wait staff was very friendly and attentive. I can't give the place a higher rating because of the price. There are no prices on any of the menus including the kids menu so a cheeseburger, turkey sandwich, pancake and waffle with 2 adult and 2 kid drinks cost us over $45.

This place is seriously so good. Especially compared to everywhere else around here. Fresh squeezed juice, AMAZING blueberry pancakes, and fresh eggs. We've had this place for breakfast three days in a row. We can't get enough! Really great service and still really good getting it to go. A must try in Estes Park!

We decided last minute to stop by a random breakfast joint, the egg and I is an amazing spot! Very affordable. Spent 28$ on three full meals and a ice coffee and a regular black coffee. The good was amazing! I got the stuffed French toast. This had eggs sausage an bacon in the middle. A full plate for only 6.99!!!! Our server was Lydia. She was the sweetest around. We never had to wait for her, she always seemed to be ready for us but, she wasn't interrupting our meal. I highly recommend this place.

I loved this place. It is NOT a Denny's, Village Inn or IHOP. The potatoes were pretty tasty, the eggs were done right and the service was excellent and friendly. Certainly one of my favorite places for an economical breakfast in Estes Park! I would definitely recommend this place.

I have been to other Egg & I's in Highlands Ranch and Littleton and this location in Estes Park was great. The staff was warm and friendly and it wasn't busy at 9:00 in the morning on a Sunday which was also a plus. I decided to try something new - the veggie hash and eggs was delightful! Potato, tomato, portobello mushrooms, peppers and onions. I opted to skip the hollandaise sauce but I am sure it's yummy. A warm hearty yummy breakfast in -10 degree weather goes a long way. Love this location!

I was disappointed. There were some mixed reviews so I went with a basic egg dish, Eggs Benedict, but it was just ok. It wasn't very flavorful and the ham was dry. My husband got the raisin bread French Toast and it was pretty good, but it still wasn't great. We had a better breakfast at Notchtop.

I enjoyed my huevos rancheros and left full and ready for the day! Service was good too. If you're into oatmeal, that would be highly recommended as well. In Estes Park, I'd say go here or Mountain Home Cafe; both good choices.

We got there for lunch after 12:00, so they were crowded. We were seated right away and soon the waitress took our order (drinks and food) so we didn't have to wait long for our food. She was very pleasant and attentive. The veggie eggs benedict was delicious! Full of artichoke hearts, slice of tomato, mushrooms, asparagus, green beans, and topped with a great hollandaise sauce. Lots of good choices for meals without meat.

First trip to Estes. Chose this place based on yelp reviews. Not impressed with food. My husband said it's basically on the same level with Denny's. Service was good. Hazelnut coffee was very good. Lots of elk in the parking lot as we exited the building. Recommend choosing a different place for breakfast unless you are just going for coffee.

Three words Pineapple Cocnut Pancake. It is the size of a medium pizza and comes with toasted cocnut in vanilla sauce. The pineapple is chunks. One is enough really. Okay if you do not like that, how about six different egss benedict style (crabcakes to on croisant) Homemade corned beef hash is really good nice size pieces. Big menu and small prices. Parking lot is very small and you will probably wait for table.

Full disclosure: this review is from two years ago. I'm just transferring some of my Google reviews to Yelp. I promise, I will not make an "eggcellent" pun. You're welcome. However, the temptation to do so should indicate just how charmed I was by this quality breakfast place! We ate here the first morning of our vacay, and were so pleased, we decided to have our last breakfast there too. Amazing service; friendly, smiling staff and quick delivery on the food. Speaking of the food, we just could not go wrong! My veggie benedict was phenomenal, and my guy raved about his French toast. On our second visit, we decided to go light with oatmeal and a granola parfait. We were a little surprised at the price of both, until they were delivered: packed with fresh fruit and berries and both with a side of toast/english muffin! My oatmeal was such a big portion, I could barely finish it! Not to mention the free refills on hot chocolate (even the gourmet peppermint and gingerbread flavors)! When we were reminiscing about our favorite meals from our vacation, I picked the Egg and I as my number one. If you are visiting Estes Park, you will be doing yourself a disservice by not checking out this charming restaurant. And if you are a local, let me just say I envy you your breakfast!

We went on Friday morning, so it wasn't too busy, we were seated immediately. I think there could be another breakfast joint like this in Estes, to give this place a run for their money. I think their quality could be better. I had the chile relleno breakfast, which was just ok. The chiles weren't cooked, and I'm not sure if that's intentional or not. There was about 5 pieces of potato on my plate, pretty skimpy on the servings for something being almost 9 bucks. The highlight of the meal was my boyfriend's pancakes! Those were yummy!

I am bumping this up to 5 stars, because I was thoroughly impressed by their service. I ordered the Parisian Benedict, eggs poached medium. When I got it, the eggs were way too soft (like the egg WHITES were runny) and it completely grossed me out, so I sent it back. The staff was really good about it. They comped our coffees, and brought me out a whole new plate of food--they didn't just drop new eggs onto the original plate. At least three people came by our table to apologize, including the manager. Then, when we went up to pay, the manager actually THANKED me for "speaking up". As a jaded, asshole Bostonian, I literally had no idea how to respond to this. It struck me dumb for a full 45 seconds, before I stammered out "you're welcome?" But to summarize the Egg and I experience: -The breakfast is pretty tasty. My Benedict was really good once it was cooked they way I liked it. Solid breakfast. -They give you a whole carafe of coffee, IHOP-style. I'm into that. I also appreciate that they give you to-go cups. -The staff is super nice. See above. -The service is quick. I can see how this place would get crowded on the weekends, but we got seated pretty quickly. We were there on a Monday morning. So, yeah. It is, like, the ONLY breakfast place in Estes Park. However, as such, they could serve total slop and get away with it. But they don't. In my humble Bostonian asshole opinion, it was pretty good. I would go back, even if they weren't the only place in town to brunch.

Went here for breakfast several times when we were in Estes Park. As pretty much the only breakfast joint in town, they have a bit of a monopoly, but they don't abuse it. All of the dishes had some twist that made them a little bit different from the usual. I had the deluxe egg sandwich one day, and the dill havarti cheese was a really nice touch. This place is a bit on the pricey side for a breakfast joint, but again, it is pretty much the only game in town.

So, a Cheesehead goes to Colorado. What would she order? The Wisconsin Scramble at The Egg and I! Super cheesy eggs scrambled with Cheddar, Provolone, American White and Swiss cheese. Tasty Rosemary potatoes, a couple slices of sourdough toast and a sausage patty. Great breakfast. My cohorts had the Texas Skillet and the Breakfast Burrito. Really pleasant breakfast place in Estes Park. Their food is delicious - this is no greasy spoon diner type place. The portions are adequate and you don't leave feeling like a Midwestern pie wagon.

The owner contacted me very shortly after I posted about my less than pleasant experience in his restaurant. We discussed my visit and what had gone wrong, and he thanked me for my feedback. He then went out of his way to make it up to me and my husband. More than anything I appreciate the great customer service! We will definitely be going back to give it another try next time we're

Wow this place was good. I got the deluxe breakfast sandwich with two eggs, dill havarti cheese, bacon, ham and mayo. It was deliciously gooey and the ranch homefries were some of the best I've had. Boyfriend said his eggs benedict and ice coffee were delicious too! Service was on the slow side but our waitress was enjoyable. Too bad they don't have these on the east coast or I'd be back again and again.

Whether it was the huge portions, the fresh tasting food, or the celebration of checking out of the scary Stanley Hotel (where no sleep was had) this little breakfast place was probably my favorite restaurant of our entire roadtrip! So, so good.

The locals love this place. There are not too many places for breakfast in Estes, so this is the place. I would have given four stars, but they left the walnuts off my Strawberry Walnut Banana Waffle. It is my absolute favorite thing to order at any of the Egg and I's around Colorado. We were there this last Monday. They also put us in the back room, and we were the only ones in there as the rest of the place was full. Kind of odd being in the back like that. Service was good. We love the hazelnut coffee there.

A solid 3 stars. The quality of food here is very good but there wasn't anything on the menu that screamed "I'm a different type of breakfast spot". I found the service to be a bit pushy, however I will forgive them on that because it seems they need to turn the tables quickly. Get em' in, get em' out. I imagine this place is consistently busy, as there are not too many breakfast places in Estes Park to choose from. That being said, I'm sure that has something to do with how busy they are and not their overly superior food (IMO). I got the steak and eggs which I found to be on the expensive side. The cut of steak was a little better than you typically get at most places, maybe that's why. The eggs and steak both were cooked just how I ordered them. The waitress even asked me to cut into the steak to make sure it was how I wanted it. She watched me do it. I thought this was a little weird because had it not been how I wanted. What, then she was going to take it back cut open, have them throw it back on the grill, and bring me back a dried ass piece of meat because all the juices ran out of it....? No thanks. If you're a chef /cook or whatever and you can't cook a steak to order. You might be in the wrong profession. Either way, it was cooked fine. The ranch potato's that come on the side of everything on the menu were good. Lot's of flavor. The portions were nice, but not over the top. When in Estes Park, do as everyone else does and stop in for some breakfast at The Egg and I, because its that or McDonald's.

Good chain breakfast food, perhaps a step up from IHOP-style food. Certainly does the trick!

  • Robert B.

I had the Cambridge skillet and my cousin had the belgian waffle. Both were good, but nothing special. The resturaunt had an upscale IHOP chain feel to it - no local feel to speak of really. Cannot complain about what we ordered, but if you're looking for a local place you may want to look elsewhere for breakfast.

This place is ALWAYS packed and makes for the perfect affordable breakfast after a late night ghost-hunting at the Stanley Hotel just up the mountain. The owner is always smiling over the register and quick to great your group (however large the size) and getting a table has never been a long wait at all despite the large crowds. I have had almost everything on this menu from the fresh fruit to the Ranchero Omelette and all of the food is divine. The eggs are perfectly cooked, the hashbrowns are evenly cooked and salted and the juice and tea is flavorful and fresh. The food is always cooked to order and comes out in less than 8 minutes (again, regardless of the size of your group). The wait staff are perhaps the only thing that outshine the awesome food at this location and that is because despite how busy they might be, they always have a smile, a story, a great food recommendation and never rush you. For a VERY affordable bill (tea, juice, full plate and pie = $11.00) I can honestly say this is my favorite breakfast spot in CO.
